The Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the Kiawah Conservancy and the Town of Kiawah Island partnered with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources to install oyster shells along the Kiawah River on August 1. Kiawah volunteers created the 130 MWR's or manufactured wire reefs that were placed by hand into the pluff mud at low tide, during a sunny and warm summer morning.

2024 Carolina Kingfish Classic - Team Game Day Wins

Team Game Day with winning King
The two-day king mackerel tournament held at Charleston Harbor Marina saw 36 fishing teams compete for the single-heaviest fish! Team Game Day scored a touchdown on Day Two at 7:30 AM when a 38.7-pound King Mackerel took their bait. It was their only bite! They then had to wait patiently for the weigh-in to commence at 2 PM, and they took the outright lead, and despite a flurry of activity near the 4 PM cut-off, they held onto First Place overall, good for a $14K pay day.
