First ever tarpon fight was memorable

September 22, 2010 was the date when after a lifetime of saltwater fishing in the Charleston area, I was finally able to catch my first ever tarpon in the Lowcountry Outdoors. I was pre-fishing with Fred Bricketto, for the Lowcountry Redfish Cup, when we elected to try for a tarpon. The mature tarpon fought well that evening and with the moon full, we were bathed in moonlight during the culmination of the encounter.
