Coastal Conservation League 20th Anniversary event

This April the first, conservation and preservation are alive and well in the Lowcountry, and the Coastal Conservation League Invites you to a narrated slideshow to learn about how anyone can make a positive difference. Author Tom Butler will show slides from his book Wildlands Philanthropy: The Great Amercian Tradition, that feature photographer Antonio Vizcaino's work. Vizcaino's photos are used with permission here, all rights reserved. Thanks to Pat Rose PR and Publisher Earth Aware Editions. Other notables set to appear are Norman Brunswig, Executive Director of Audubon South Carolina and the Francis Beidler Forest (one of the 40 places featured in Butler's book), and Dana Beach, Executive Director of the Coastal Conservation League. This gathering is set for April 2, at 6 p.m. in the American Theatre located at 446 King Street. A reception will provide appetizers and drinks from Fish restaurant. Tickets are only $25 per person, with students allowed a $15 admission ticket. Copies of Wildlands Philanthropy will be on sale and readers will want to pour over the large-format design that carries 170 color photographs in the book's 350 pages. Forty "sanctuaries" that were saved through private initiatives take readers from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego and around the globe. Hear how conservation philanthropy is an important tool for inspiring and generating solutions to combat environmental problems. Come on April 2 and join together with other conservation-minded citizens so that everyone can benefit from the awareness raised about our precious natural resources of the Lowcountry outdoors.
