Saturday at The Masters

Moderate rains came in overnight to deliver much needed rainfall in drought-ridden Georgia, and the good news is that it did not produce a weather delay for The Masters. Saturday tee times will commence at 10:35 right on time with R. Imada and S. Appleby, both at one over par. Appleby has not looked very strong over the first two days, but has managed to hang on for weekend play. There is no doubt this Aussie has the game to contend at Augusta, but from body language observation I look for him to drop back a bit. It could be said that flair has been missing from the most colorful golfers thus far like Woods, Jimenez, Romero and Villegas - while workman like efforts by less colorful Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry have produced the best scores and the best possible positioning leading into the weekend at The Masters. If the American leaders falter there is a host of International players waiting to try on a green jacket by getting into position Saturday, which is traditionally known as "moving day at The Masters." Katayama is within striking distance and he has the Masters pedigree to tame this course, a truth I have witnessed over the past nine consecutive years of attendance, and the x-factor is the level of support that is behind him from his home country of Japan!
