Belmont Inn / Abbeville - Old 96 District

Lots of room on the Veranda, and full-size horse statue.
Room 25 is large and comfortable.
Opened first in August 1903, The Belmont Inn underwent renovations in 1984, and has changed ownership in late 2015. New co-owners Ren'ee Smith and Edie New took over on September 1 and their first order of business was new mattresses for all 25 rooms. Superstitious? Have no fear, since this hotel does not offer a Room # 13 ?! "We are busy hosting weddings this summer, but we have more updates in the planning phase to keep our hotel ready for the modern traveler," said Smith.

Lots of historic buildings in Abbeville.
Opened in 1903 under the name of 'The Eureka' this historic hotel has long played a role as a dominant building in the town square of Abbeville on Pickens Street. The hotel has an extensive veranda that is perfect for afternoon entertainment, and that's not it's only social outlet. Their is a wine parlor inside the hotel, and a bar in the basement level known as Tinker's Alley. The Belmont is also home to Trudy's restaurant that serves lunch and dinner, or they can prepare you a Picnic for Two for those electing to spend the day outdoors - what a great idea!!

Hotel Menu Options.
If you like viewing antiques, then The Belmont Inn is highly recommended since it has an ole-timey feel to it, from the creaking boards underneath one's feet to the sky-high ceilings. Room 25 is upstairs and on the back corner of the building with a parking lot view out of two windows, and it has a King trundle bed for guests. The bathroom fixtures were older but functional, and the mason jar drinking glasses provided by the Belmont add more to the throwback appeal. As for modern convenience, we had no trouble connecting to the Internet while in the room, and cable TV is standard.
