Neck Collar geese come to Perfect Honker call

Three early season geese with neck-collar trophies
Big Lake Duck Calls in Elloree, S.C. keeps expanding their arsenal of waterfowl calls, which now includes the Perfect Honker goose call. Big Lake founder Hugh McLaurin was in the field during early goose season with his grandson Alex in order to do some testing on his new goose call. Apparently the Canada geese could not resist the Perfect Honker call, and McLaurin's mojo showed no September rust - as he was able to harvest not One, not Two, but THREE geese with neck bands. Neck banded waterfowl are extremely rare and serve as the highest form of trophy for hunters, and each of them also wore 'jewelry' in the form of federal leg bands. A near perfect morning of hunting in southern Orangeburg County included a full daily limit of Canada geese and a grand story to share about how hunting adventure abounds in the Lowcountry outdoors. Look for Big Lake Duck Calls in the live auction package available at upcoming SCWA banquets.
