Capt. Chris Wilson put Russ Parker on the big redfish |
Captain John Ward elected to fish South of the Charleston Harbor Marina and it paid off big time as he easily guided his anglers to victory in the 2011 Red*Trout tourney. Ward set a new tournament record for points by catching and releasing something like 80 redfish over the two-day period that was fished under near ideal weather conditions. True Story: LowcountryOutdoors pre-fished with Ward on Tuesday and we caught ONLY one redfish - but that's fishing!! Other winners at the Sunday afternoon closing ceremony included largest trout award (20-inches) going to Capt. Patrick Crawford, largest redfish award going to Russ Parker, and the fly fish division champs from 2010 defended their title - Capt. Graham Hegamyer and Dr. Macintosh. Capt. Mark Nichols narrowly edged out the mogan man for the top Celebrity angler honors and was guided by DOA-endorsed Capt. Reid Simmons. To view ALL of the tourney results visit
