African Safaris with Askari Adventures

A happy hunter and his trophy African Sable

Paul Ferreira, Harrington and Laurens Bissell,

P.H. Ferreira and hunter Randy with African plains game

What a view from your African hunt camp!
When Professional Hunter Paul Ferreira visited Charleston recently it was my assignment to interview him about exactly what he can offer hunters who travel to South Africa. Visiting with Paul we touched on the rhino poaching trade, how plains game remain the number one target of hunters, and even what wingshooting options are available. It was great to meet Paul and his wife Linda, since I had previously interviewed one of their associates in 2008 - and to read my interview with Trompie Hofmyer click Lowcountry SCI. Also, thanks to Harrington Bissell of Charleston for sharing the stories of his adventures in Africa! Read the full interview with P.H. Paul Ferreira, owner of Askari Adventures, in the Charleston Mercury.

  1. I think you had an extreme hunting experience at the African safari, Jeff! I’m also fond of hunting, but I usually come with my brother to watch him when he goes into the forests and hunt for wild animals. I hope that you wouldn’t hunt for all of the animals there since I know there were some species that are already extinct. :)
