Safari Club International (SCI) has announced that South Carolina State Representative Mike Pitts of Laurens is the 2009 State Legislator of the year! Rep. Pitts is a proponent of our hunting and fishing heritage and is the founding chair of the South Carolina Sportsmen's Caucus. Rep. Pitts is an active hunter who promotes the positive aspects of hunting and fishing to those legislators that do not participate in these outdoor traditions. Rep. Pitts is currently serving as the President of the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses (NASC) Executive Council - and will help other states draft model legislation for protection of our outdoor heritage.
