NEW State Record Cobia caught off Hilton Head Island

Angler Robbie Maroudas of Hilton Head went fishing near the Betsy Ross reef on May 26th and caught a monster of a cobia. Weighing in at 92-pounds and 10-ounces on a SCDNR certified scale, the potential record catch is only pending a bit of paperwork at this point.

Where else but Lowcountryoutdoors.com will you get the gnarly stomach contents photos that sportsmen love to see?! Just look at those partially digested blue crabs and calico crabs - no wonder cobia have earned the nickname crab-eater. They are also known as Ling and Lemon fish.

Congratulations to team Tuna Hutt for this trophy cobia, and for winning the local fishing tournament they were competing in.
