BIG Blacktip shark new state record

On June 6th in Port Royal Sound, an angler visiting South Carolina for his very first saltwater fishing trip was able to do battle with a Big shark that secured him a new state record. The blacktip (or spinner) shark weighed 163-pounds and 14-ounces and Daniel Rowe of Gray, Tennessee fought the shark for about 45 minutes - what he called an intense forearm workout. The charter Captain was "Chip" Michalove of Outcast Charters which fishes out of Hilton Head Harbor marina, and he told me that this record blacktip would beat the record for any East Coast state - making this record blacktip a BEAST! Lowcountryoutdoors.com offers congrats to the lucky angler - one fishing trip and one saltwater record - nuthin' to it!!
