Three Rivers Turkey Invitational - Results

Perhaps quiet gobbling conditions explains why only four of the thirteen registered two-man teams only harvested four gobblers during the morning hunt that lasted until noon, and perhaps there is just no judging when you will encounter a mature longbeard and certainly no guarantee that a hunter may harvest one on any exact day! Ah the sporting challenges of turkey hunting!! With all the funds raised from this Inaugural event scheduled to go to the South Carolina Quail Project sponsored by Tall Timbers in Tallahassee, coordinator Jerald Sholar announced that Alton McCollough and Wynfield Sapp had won the perpetual trophy for the turkey with the highest 'score' (based on NWTF method). McCollough's tom also took home the custom box calls for Longest Spurs and Longest Beard, and won taxidermy service from Matthew Taylor in Manning - Congrats! Smythe McCrady and Lamar Comalander finished in second place and Charles Carson and Jim Henry finished in third with Carson taking home the custom box call for Heaviest Turkey.
