The 2013 Carolina Lady Anglers inshore tournament was fished on Saturday June 1 out of the Maritime Center. The Captain's Meeting on Wednesday was well attended, although participation from registered anglers was down a bit this year. The CLA tourney is raising funds for the fight against breast cancer, thus the Fishing For A Cure mantra. A cancer survivor spoke at the Captain's Meeting, which also included a catered meal and a raffle. At the weigh-in it was ironic that the fishing team with the most fish in their cooler, also had the biggest fish! Robbie Forbes unloaded three BIG sheepshead, good for a sweep of first place, second, place and third place - and earning him the top male angler honors - Congrats! His sheepies weighed 6.3-pounds, 5.98-pounds and 5.86-pounds respectively. His partner Bruce Humbert caught plenty of fish too while Robbie had the hot hand. Tom McGee brought in a fat black sea bass that weighed 2.86-pounds good for first place. Thomas DeOgburn won with his 3.74-pound trout. Lee Moyer won with a 3.92-pound flounder.  Tina Chapman took home the top female angler honors with her BIG dogfish.
