After a Mega-Thunderstorm on Wednesday at 1 p.m. the Captain's Meeting was held in the Rice Mill Building at the City Marina. With a smaller fleet of 38-boats this year, there is no MegaTent for patrons, but meals will be served by Jim 'N' Nicks after the daily weigh-ins which run from 5 until 8 p.m. Several new teams will complete the field for the 2012 MegaDock such as the E-fishin-C and the Absolut Joy! MegaDock's Robbie Freeman and SCDNR's Wallace Jenkins spoke at the meeting and informed anglers that colored-ribbons must be included in all billfish release photos, which also must register a correct date stamp. Law enforcement hinted that since fishing license expired on June 30, that anglers should double-check to make sure that they hold a current license. Thirty-five boats went fishing on Day One, and a special $1000 fuel card was up for grabs to the first boat to release a blue marlin.
